TGA was originally founded in 1980 by Graham Boothby and Tony Teasdale as a way of earning a little bit of pocket money for trips to the newly formed Classic Racing Motorcycle Club's meetings around the UK and as a means of providing some variety from their full time teaching work.
From these small and humble beginnings at autojumbles and local race meetings, TGA has grown to be one of the world leaders in this particular area of expertise. In 1990 Graham gave up teaching to concentrate fully on the business and now runs it on his own. TGA has grown to its current status by the application of a very simple rule "Value for money", as a racer myself, I look at all of my stock items and price them at the prices I would be happy to pay elsewhere. The growth of TGA can be charted by the vehicles the team have used, from a rusty Transit in 1980 to a purpose built Volvo Transporter / Motorhome at the present time. Another essential part of TGA's commitment to Classic and Historic racing is that I put something back into the sport we all love, for many years, I organised the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club's meetings in the UK and then assisted Alan Cathcart in running the International Historic Racing Organisation and now since 1994 have run IHRO alone as a 'Benevolent Dictator' although some might use other descriptions! TGA has always put money back into the sport as well as time, I have sponsored the CRMC since its inception, first with "Man of the Meeting" awards, later with providing the results service for riders. I have also supported AFAMAC in France, CRMB in Belgium and Time Tunnel in Japan with products and cash. The latest chapter in the TGA story is a change of base from Northern England to Northern France, the change has been beneficial in quality of life as well as aiding the servicing of meetings in Europe. Thus concludes the current story of TGA, I hope that you will purchase something from me, that is what I am here for after all said and done!! Watch this space for future developments.......
