This is the crossply predecessor to the Xtreme range of tyres which are radials.

Although all modern designs of tyres are radials, crossplies do have advantages in that they have more 'feel' than radials - the transition to full traction to sliding down the road on your backside is much wider!! Plus, the proven AM23 tread pattern has much greater tread depth than any radials improving water clearance at a fraction of the price of the Storms.
