DESCRIPTION
A complete, top spec and lightweight primary drive kit for your Norton twin, exactly as used on our own Team race bikes.
Comprising 32T front pulley, 30mm wide quality 8mm pitch HTD drive belt, our standard 68T multispring clutch with lightened drum. All wearing aluminium parts hard anodised as standard.
Front pulley is only available in 32T x 30 wide as standard. From time to time, we do make other sizes & widths, but you need to check first by email. We tend to have 30T & 36T available. (30T will increase the centre distance by about 3.5mm, 36T will reduce the centre distance by about 7mm).
Belt lengths offered are:
880mm = 235mm centres (Commando)
920mm = 255mm centres
960mm = 276mm centres (Most Dominators/650SS/Atlas)
976mm = 284mm centres
1000mm = 296mm centres
The clutch is supplied with steel plates as standard which will transmit 75 hp without trouble. We can supply with alloy plates which saves about 315g but because the plates are thicker there are fewer of them so the clutch has a reduced power capacity of 60+ hp. Lightening the pressure plate saves 80g & looks trick but does not affect the performance. We have a choice of centres to build into the clutches depending on the spline length of your gearbox mainshaft. The standard centre needs not less than 22mm of spline length on the mainshaft, which is only found on Commando mainshafts. (Full depth of spline, don't include the 'runout'). Earlier AMC gearboxes have shorter splines & so need different centres, but choose the longest spline option you can as the shorter spline centres move the clutch further outboard which can lead to alignment woes.
