DESCRIPTION

This forged piston is made specially for us by Omega.

It is designed to run in the standard 79.62mm Iron bore selected by Norton to give an exact 499cc for all 500 Manx 100mm engines from 1948 - 1953. It can also be used in International engines if the barrel is bored to suit. There are no oversized pistons available for Manx Engines. 

This piston is available for "Petrol" (approx 11.5:1 compression ratio) or methanol (approx 14:1 compression ratio).

Standard rings are fairly basic, custom made, cast iron. 

Standard Gudgeon pin is case hardened EN39. We strongly recommend the use of a DLC (Diamond like carbon) coating on the gudgeon pin which drastically extends the life of the pin, piston & little end bush.
